Holsteins stomp Coyotes

The Sheridan County Coyotes season was ended by the New Salem Holsteins in the first round of the Region 5 tournament in Underwood. The Holsteins stopped the Coyotes three games to 0. District 9 swept District 10 in the opening round. Flasher defeated Turtle Lake- Mercer 3-1, Standing Rock went over Washburn 3-1 and Wilton-Wing fell to Center -Stanton 3-0. The second round, it was Standing Rock over Flasher 3-1 and Center-Stanton over New Salem 3-1. The defending champs, the Center-Stanton Wildcats, defeated the Standing Rock Warriors for the Region Championship 3-1 for their second straight trip to the State Tournament. In the first game of the match Jasmine Massingill tied the score at three with a kill and put the Coyotes up, 4-3, with an ace. Kills from Kim Tkach and Karissa Erdmann then put the Coyotes up 6-3.
