The Turtle Lake-Mercer McClusky Trojans girls team defeated the Max Cossacks, 47-43, for their first win of the season. The Trojans suffered a defeat to the Linton/Hazelton/Moffit/Braddock Lions, 68-23.

Jacy Hausauer led the Trojans in scoring with 12 points followed by Kim Tkach with 11 and Kelsey Everett 10.
Brianna Johnson led the Cossacks with 22 points.
Mikali Talbott got the Cossack on the board first with a bucket just six seconds into the game. Brianna Johnson got a bucket at the 7:15 mark to give the Cossacks a 4-0 lead.
Sabrina Rust got the Trojans on the board at the 5:01 mark with a bucket, Rachel Hanson and Jacy Hausauer followed with buckets to give the Trojans a 6-4 lead. Kelsey Everett got back to back buckets to put the Trojans head 10-4 at the 2:33 mark.
Johnson put in a bucket and free throw at the 0:21 mark to make the score 10-7 at the end of one quarter.
Talbott scored a free throw to make the score 10-8 Trojans to start the second quarter. Then the team traded buckets until Makayla Huesers scored a bucket to tie the game at 16.
Tkach put the Trojans in front with a put back and a few seconds later Hanson got a bucket to put the Trojans in the lead at the 1:57 mark 20-16.
