Tatum Fylling was named to the 2013 All Region 5 Team on Thursday night.
Other members of the team are Abby Landenberger and Taylor Dammann from Underwood; Karlie Schroeder and Hailie Doll from New Salem; Allie Mischel-Shiloh Christian, Siam Simpferderer- Center/Stanton; Tiffany Friesz- Flasher, Sydney Bentz- Grant County; and Heidi Clausen- Wilton/Wing.
Heidi Clausen was chosen as 2013 Region 5 Senior Athlete of the Year and the 2013 Region 5 Coach of the Year is Marlene Kautzman from New Salem.
The Trojans were defeated by the New Salem Holsteins 3-0 in the quarter final match of Region 5 tournament at Bismarck Shiloh Christian Monday afternoon.
Tatum Fylling led the Trojans with 11 kills and three blocks.
Hailie Doll was the leader for the Holsteins with 13 kills and seven blocks.’
The first set saw 15 ties with five lead changes. The Trojans held a slight lead most of the set.
A kill from Tatum Fylling, followed by an ace from Tasha Williams, put the Trojans up 4-3, but an ace and kill from the Holsteins’ Hailie Doll gave them the lead again at 6-5.
A kill by Fylling, then a tip from Mariah Sellon and a block by Fylling put the Trojans up 8-6.
The set remained close with the Trojans holding the lead until a missed kill and a net violation gave the Holsteins a 21-20 lead.
A net violation on the Hol-steins tied the set at 21. Missed kills from both teams tied the set at 22.
The Holsteins gave up two points with missed kills giving the Trojans a 24-22 lead but the Trojans gave up a point on a long serve, cutting their lead to 24-23.
A tip from Katie Doll tied the set at 24; then a missed kill from the Trojans put the Holsteins in front 25-24.
