Cougars beached by Buccaneers

As three starters watched the game from the sidelines, one might have had an inkling the Cougars could find themselves stranded out in the water, with no way to get to the Beach.
Or get at Beach.
That turned out to be the case, a the region’s number three team, the Beach Buccaneers, turned back the Cougars 46-8 on the Cougars’ home turf Friday night.
Beach fielded a team of veterans, while the Cougars found themselves once again digging into its youth core to fill spots and rearrange positions to fill the holes left by injured starters Parker Christenson, Seth Laframboise and Trapper Jacobs.
“We had three starters out, and we’ve been playing these young guys for the last month or so, and on defense they just wore us down,” said Co-coach Kevin Dockter. “They play good physical football.”
Co-Coach Grant Singer agreed.
