Comets outlast Trojans

It has been more than a decade since the Comets have defeated the Trojans but the Comets ended a 20-game losing streak against the Trojans Saturday night. They defeated the Trojans 48-43 in District 10 semi-final action.
Ty Snyder paced the Comets with 22 game high points, including five three-pointers, Kayden Hornberger also scored in double figures with 14 points.
Trapper Jacobs led the Trojans with 14 points. JP Pizarro also scored double figures with 12 points.
First quarter action saw three lead changes and four ties as well as a defense battle with the Trojans defense holding the Comets junior center to just 2 points and the Comets holding the Trojans leading scorer Trapper Jacobs to just 2 points in the quarter.
A lay-up from Jacobs with 0:19 left, gave the Trojans a 12-10 lead but Ty Snyder tied the game at 12, with 2.6 seconds showing on the clock, with a pair of free throws.
