Year in Review 2015

JANUARY

The McClusky Locals, Inc/ held their cheer basket packing for the Christmas season, enjoyed a light supper and had their year-end strategy planning meeting on Sunday, Dec. 21.

A new chairman and vice-chairman: Howard Erdmann was selected as chairman and Commissioner Steve Eisenbeisz as vice-chair, replacing Commissioner Mike Axt and ex-Commissioner Eldon Ehrman. Nicole Wardner is the new Sheridan County Extension Agent and made her first report to the county commissioners.

If it were a popularity contest, speeding would win, or lose, depending upon how one looks at it. There were 15 speeding cases, with speeds from 10 to 17 mph over the speed limit. Each driver coughed up fine money to close the case. At a dollar a mile over the limit for the lower limit violations, it appears there isn’t much to discourage speeding within the city limits.

Tree removal letters will be issued to residents and property owners who have not removed diseased elm trees or their residue from their property by the deadline. The letters will spell out the time frame for compliance.

The Trojans are the champions of the 2015 McLean County JV Girls’ Basketball Tournament. The Tournament was held in Turtle Lake on Jan. 22, 23 and 24.

In a new and pleasing professional reporting style, McClusky Merchants President Jeff Martwick gave the members copies of the agenda for the January meeting as well as a summary of the expenditures for 2014. He noted he had a sparse data base to work from so that it may have additions or corrections at a later time.
