Hall of Fame induction took place at the Trappers Kettle Restaurant in Belfield on June 11, 2011 with local trapper and hunter Larry Whitman chosen for the 2011 honor.
Ethics standards of the organization state, “When we think about trapping ethics we usually think about game laws and regulations. It is our responsibility to know and obey the laws in our state. Trapping ethics go much farther than game laws set by the state to manage wildlife.
“Trapping and hunting of furbearing animals to be used as a renewable resource can benefit both people and wildlife. A trapper must respect a landowner’s property and not trespass without permission.
“A trapper should close gates, stay on roads unless told otherwise and not litter.
