What has the Goodrich High School Class of 2010 been up to? As cliché as it may sound, they have been making plans for their future. Their class motto is a quote from Mel Brooks, “As long as the world keeps turning, we’re gonna be dizzy.” You might think these words of enlightenment are coming from a group of slackers, but, with nearly $50,000 racked up in scholarships, this mighty class of seven has been stealthily hard at work. Where does all this money come from? Well here’s the beginning of the list:
Pamela Anderson, daughter of Karen and Bob is getting scholarship money from Valley City State University, Sheridan County Dollars for Scholars and Goodrich Music Boosters; Neilie Dockter, daughter of Scott and Lisa, will have Sheridan County Dollars for Scholars and the Goodrich Music Boosters to thank; Karissa Erdmann, daughter of LaDonna and Kim, has been awarded funds from Minot State University, Minot Rotary, Sheridan County Dollars for Scholars, Goodrich Music Boosters, and North Dakota Academic & Career and Technical Education Scholarship(NDACTES); Talia Harper, daughter of Janessa Rowheller and Marty Harper is also receiving money from Goodrich Music Boosters and NDACTES, Mandy Peerboom, daughter of Craig and Barbara, will be blessed with gifts from Sheridan County 4-H, Sheridan County Dollars for Scholars, Goodrich Music Boosters, the Harold Schafer Leadership and Sr. Thomas Welder scholarships of the University of Mary; Jessica Stober, daughter of Stephanie and John, is being awarded scholarships from the National Wild Turkey Federation, The College of Agriculture and an Academic Excellence Award from NDSU, Choice Financial, West River Telephone Company, NDACTES, Goodrich Music Boosters, and Sheridan County Dollars for Scholars; Evan Thomas, son of Mike and Deneen Richter and Darren and Sue Thomas, has funds coming from The Burt Finney Memorial Scholarship at Bismarck State College, Goodrich Music Boosters, Sheridan County Dollars for Scholars, and NDACTES.
