Township officers meet on wind tower issue

Officials assembled for the February 15 special county commission and township officers meeting included Ladd Ericson, Sheridan County State’s Attorney, Shirley Murray,
Sheridan County auditor, Sandra Felchle, Chair of the Sheridan County Commission, and Commissioners Shannon Dieterle and Rod Schilling. Also present was Sheridan
County Extension Agent Sarah Crimmins, who gave a premeeting informational presentation on the continuance and funding of the extension office as it currently exists. Felchle ask those present for their comments on the issues of wind tower development and on the petition being considered for a moratorium on “provision of a moratorium on any renewable energy projects within Sheridan County for a period of two years. The letter had been sent in December to the commission to allow for time to “allow for the residents
of Sheridan County to further investigate how renewable energy may impact the residents of the county. The letter had been sent by R.S. “Bob” Granlund of Anamoose, a resident of Sheridan County. In it he asked that further study be done on the effects of renewable energy:
