Sugar-coated ninth anniversary observed
By ALLAN TINKER
The ninth anniversary of Holen’s Super Valu in McClusky was a sweet one. Not just the customers and the servers, but the selection of doughnuts in various shapes and sizes, including ‘holes,’ all offered a choice with or without chocolate, frosting or sprinkles.
The flow of guests was steady with spurts of heavier crowds in morning and afternoon, rather centered around various coffee break times, one can assume.
There were also 99-cent special prices and grab bags for a dollar. One might get a bottle of cooking oil, a book, or perhaps a box of rice hotdish for a meal treat.
