It was “thank you” for a chance to hunt on private land. And the house was packed on a warm winter night for a quality, home-cooked meal. Prizes and conversation were nearly all about hunting.
The McClusky Sportsman’s Club annual Landowner’s Ap-preciation Supper as held Sunday, January 27th at the American Legion.
A total of 115 guests enjoyed a supper of roast beef, buns, au gratin potatoes, baked bean hotdish and beverages provided by the Club. Members of the club also furnished assorted salads and desserts.
Tina Bertsch stated, “The supper is open to area landowners as a way for sportsmen to show respect and gratitude towards the landowner-sportsman relationship. The club hopes to promote their emphasis that hunting on private property is a privilege and hunters should strive to be considerate of public and private lands.
Many wonderful and very appreciated door prizes were donated by the club and supportive area merchants including: Co-op Elevator of McClusky, Denny’s Repair, McClusky Rex-all, Teumer’s Custom Pride, A&G Trucking, Mechanics Plus, Bentz Supply, Polar Ware, The Union Bar & Grill, North Country Bank, The C-Store, and Holen’s Super Value. The club as well as the winners appreciate the generosity and support of the landowners and businesses that make this hunting partnership happen every season and year.
