By ALLAN TINKER
Sheridan County Road Foreman Alvin Gross received his Level 1 Road Scholar Award for completing 30 hours of training. Presenting the award to Gross on February 26 was Denise Brown, NDLTAP Training Coordinator.
The North Dakota Local Technical Assistance Program’s (NDLTAP) Road Scholar Program is designed for road and highway practitioners in North Dakota. It recognizes each participant’s achievement in subjects and topics essential to efficient and effective local road maintenance and management.
Participation in the Road Scholar Program increases knowledge and awareness of how and why the road system must be properly managed. The ideas, knowledge, and skills gained through the training will help participants on the job, strengthen their agency, preserve the roadway infrastructure, and reduce the cost of maintaining roadways.
