The Red Hats Society of McClusky visited the Sheridan Memorial Home residents on December 12 for an informal social, complete with pianist, songs, good cheer and a special gingerbread cake made by SMH staff member Jan Schmidt. The group varies in size each month, with a variety of meeting places and themes. Bev Zingg and Donna Murray serve as the group’s cheerleaders and organizers, with others volunteering themes, hosting special topics and bringing their points of view for sharing on many of the topics. They have visited local businesses, traveled by bus to places nearby such as the Sheridan County Pioneer Museum in Goodrich, with no special rules to follow except to wear a red hat if at all possible and each one pays for their own lunch.
