Hours were cut but pay raises were “across the board,” except for the ruling board (school). The decisions came at the July annual budget meeting and the regular monthly meeting on Monday, July 14.
The offers to be made for the hourly classified staff contracts are: head cook, $10; assistant cook, $8.75, both had total hours cut by two; Elementary Aide $9; Title I Aide, $10; bus drivers $16; head custodian #11 plus $3,100 towards health coverage; assistant custodian $9.50; secretary (to be determined for new person, based upon experience and qualifications; business manager, $1,000 annual increase; school board, none. The board members receive $1,000 per year for regular meetings; $40 per meeting for special meetings; and $20 for committee meetings, plus mileage. They voted not to change their pay.
The annual designations of official and required positions and actions were as follows: Official Depository: North Country Bank; Hot Lunch Representative and for Income Eligibility Guideline verification: Principal Dan Klemisch Special Ed Unit: Lonetree; Official Newspaper: The McClusky Gazette; Board meeting time and date: Second Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m.; Representative of all Federal programs, Principal Dan Klemisch until superintendent hired; and Pledge of Securities: North Country Bank and Bank of North Dakota.
The board heard and approved the resignation of Marge Reule as school secretary.
The Honeywell Instant Alert system was approved for continuance and has worked well, said Klemisch and Business Manager Cindy Miller.
Klemisch reported that several improvements and repairs had been done to the schools, including painting the music room. He noted that Ms. Wisdom had done an excellent job of priming and painting the rooms.
