Quiet spot feeds many

With a nippy wind out of the southeast, the north side of the American Bank Center was the best place to eat, free, on July 23. The heart-shaped shelter, circled with chairs and tables was a friendly atmosphere for visiting. With “Chef” Don Weidner flipping burgers on the grill and hotdogs ready for buns, there was plenty for everyone. Server Sharon Rath said there were those who chose hot dogs; others who had hamburgers and some who took one of each. With cold water to battle the high temperature, sweet cookies to top off the meal,
and many choices of flavored chips, the event was well attended. Final count of happy diners was 120. The event was a special treat for customer appreciation, one of the most favorite things for both sides to enjoy during the summer.
