Pumpkin Festival winners shiver and smile

Saved by the shelter of the McClusky Fire Hall, children and adults brought more than 40 pumpkins to compete in the Pumpkin Festival on Saturday. The event was
organized by McClusky Job Development Authority with team leader Roxinne McPhail and JDA President Roberta Hunt, smiles, masked and unmasked, enjoyed the new
event for the city. The event had been planned for the Heart Park but a cold weather system changed the location. The group was out of the wind and enjoyed the sun’s warmth.
Winners of the competition were largest pumpkin, Sydney Crimmins; ugliest pumpkin, Brandon Lauer; adult decorated pumpkin, first place, Tyson Foley; second place, Daphne
Lauer; and honorable mention, Lindsey Abrahamson and Daphne Lauer; children’s decorated pumpkin, first place, Brooklynn Lauer; second place, Micah Foley; third
place, Romie Tedford; and honorable mention, Ethan Saueressig. It was a close competition with creative skills bringing compliments for the time spent on the displays.
