Pool ends season with cold weather

The cool temperatures and the start of school affected the closing of the pool earlier than planned. Pool Manager Sue Ebach had thought to keep it open through Labor Day, but lifeguards’ other obligations and the unseasonable cool weather made that no longer feasible. The pool closed on August 18.
With her report on August 20, Ebach asked if this was the end of meetings for her. The board assured her that it was likely over until the next year for planning meetings for the pool.
She reported the latest fundraisers added money for pool operation and improvements: Grace Lutheran Church, $156; Sheridan Animal Hospital, $260; Special Olympic rental for kids, $200; and the midnight swim, $800, partially due to a donation from Brent and Sarah Ravnaas, Turtle Lake.
