Polar Ware/Stoelting, which opened formally in McClusky in 2001, changed hands this past year into ownership under Vollrath Company LLC.
CEO and Vollrath President Paul Bartelt stated the Mc-Clusky plant will close in a “drawdown” fashion beginning in mid-January, 2013. The process is scheduled to be complete by the end of March, 2013.
Employees will be offered severance packages that vary with their positions and length of employment. They have also been offered the opportunity to move to similar positions at other Vollrath manufacturing sites. The McClusky site has 38 employees who come not only from McClusky to work, but from other nearby towns and surrounding area.
The plant is located on the south edge of the city and has undergone upgrades in both building structure and design as well as equipment in the years of its operation in McClusky.
