In 2008, Sharon Dennler moved to Goodrich, a change from her former busy life in the east and southeast portions of the US. She started her life in Glastonbury, CT, the oldest settled town (1693) in New England, Dennler stated. “The bricks in the family home came from France.”
Six generations of the family have been raised in the Glastonbury area, to which her son, Zachary, belongs. She divorced Zach’s father when he was 6, then married a sail maker. She worked as a special education teacher and when they also split she went back to Connecticut and a bookstore at Yale University where her job was to find rare books. She also worked a health food store there at the same time.
She then worked at the family business, “The Country Tookie, where Zach also first learned to work when he was very little. When he was six, she began working the third shift in an area nursing home and modeled fine clothing on weekends. She modeled “on the runway;” showing gowns, jewelry and fur coats to the designers’ clientele.
