Nest Box Workshop, open house at Audubon Refuge
On Thursday, Sept. 23, Audubon National Wildlife Refuge will host the annual nest box workshop for youth, as well as an open house for the public. The event will take place from 1 to 8 p.m. at the newly constructed office and visitor center.
Visitors are invited to participate in a guided tour of the newly constructed office and visitor center to discover the ‘green’ features incorporated into this building - energy conservation, renewable energy production, water efficiency, and the use of recycled materials.
Thirty-minute guided tours will be at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7 p.m. Visitors may tour the exhibit hall on their own, which takes approximately 30 minutes, said Jackie Jacobson, visitor services manager at the refuge.
