Moratorium ill-advised currently

By ALLAN TINKER
With concerns at all levels, the proposed EDF renewable energy project for the Lincoln Valley area in townships Granville, Harris, Lincoln Dale, New Germantown, and Schiller, produced a petition from residents of those areas to call a two-year moratorium on renewable energy projects for Sheridan County. A letter from Bob Granlund containing approximately 140 signatures of residents of the county, asked for further studies by residents and such project’s impacts on health for humans, wildlife, domestic animal and reliability of such energy production for the residents of the county, along with any other issues that may be considered. With several area residents already signed onto the project,
a meeting has been scheduled for February 15, at 3 p.m. in the Community Room of the courthouse for further discussions on this issue. The three county commissioners, in a letter to the above organized townships, noted that a zoning plan pertaining to renewable energy that was thoroughly reviewed and revised by the county, is available on the Sheridan County website: www.co.sheridan.nd.us. Follow prompts to: departments, auditor, links, zoning information, Sheridan County Zoning Plan 2021.
