By ALLAN TINKER
The newly created McClusky Job Development Authority, formed under Chapter 40-57.4 of the North Dakota Century Code upon suggestion of city attorney Walter Lipp’s advice, met for their first meeting, focusing on organization.
The members include two council members: Roberta Hunt and Dorothy Estrada, and three appointed residents from the city: Linda Bowers, Jordan Miller and Jordan Froehlich.
The meeting was held following the April City meeting in the council chambers of city hall. The group selected the terms they would fill in staggered succession. One year term: Linda Bowers; two-year terms: Dorothy Estrada and Robert Hunt; three-year terms; Jordan Miller and Jordan Froehlich.
Hunt gave a brief history of the former SCEDC Sheridan County Economic Development Corporation, the duties of which they wish to at least partially perform under this authority. She noted that SCEDC had been involved in Kirschmann Manufacturing; Sheridan Animal Hospital; Polar Ware; and the McClusky Medical Center efforts.
