McClusky blood drives declared ‘impressive’
By ALLAN TINKER
McClusky’s last blood drive in January was the largest on record since 2003. United Blood Services Bismarck Representative Colleen Scott noted that she only has the ability to go back that far. Scott said, “We collected 33 products. This is amazing for a community the size of McClusky. What a caring community! It is truly amazing to see
the success of this blood drive. “Here are some facts. “Since 2003, we collected 953 units of blood in McClusky. This we take times three, because each donation saves
three people on average. This means, since 2003, the community of donors has potentially saved 2,859 lives! “In 2019, there were four blood drives. The Martwicks coordinated
three (with the McClusky Merchants Association sponsorship of gift certificates for donors) and Northland Health hosted one.
