Legion serves up hot and tasty breakfast
By ALLAN TINKER
On a cloudy and ominous day, a bit chillier than the norm, a hot breakfast awaited the faithful supporters of the Goodrich community. This included many regular drive-ins from the outlying towns and country, most of whom really like a fresh, tasty meal, home prepared by the Legion or the Auxiliary.
There were light and tasty pancakes, hot off the griddle, with sausage that was “just right” and begged for people to take seconds. Legion members made the rounds to be sure that people had all the wanted to eat, and plenty of hot coffee as well.
Working at the event were eight Legionnaires, more of whom may have shown up for prep or clean-up work but were not present for the noon breakfast service. They were Goodrich Legion Commander Merwyn Krein, Chaplain Gordon Felchle, Roger Trautmann, Ken-neth (Butch) Konschak, Milton Helm, Morris Broeckel, Treasurer Tim Erdmann, and Secretary Jim Paulus.
Krein noted the pancake mix is donated by the ND State Mill and Elevator to the Legion and other such fundraisers in the state upon approved request basis.
