Legion celebrates birthday

The Goodrich American Le-gion and Auxiliary celebrated the Legion’s birthday with cake, entertainment, speeches and a pie auction. The pies went quickly, added by the tasty kuchen offerings that were included in this year’s sale. Goodrich Legion Commander Merwyn Krein served as both emcee of the program and as pie auctioneer.
The cake was large, plenty for everyone, which included students who performed for the program, visiting Legionnaires, and guests.
Daisy Tripp played a violin solo, “Red, White and Blue,” and Grades seven through eleven played hand chimes of “America.”
Grades four through six sang “America the Beautiful and Deloris Oswald gave two readings for the event.
