Job development group ends 2012 year
By ALLAN TINKER
With a late start in April of 2012, the McClusky City Job Development Authority (MCJDA) organized with appointed members and proceeded to gather information.
The members were Roberta Hunt, Dorothy Estrada, Jordan Miller, Jordan Froehlich and Linda Bowers. Andrea Kluck attends as the McClusky City Auditor and keeps official financial records for the group. All members were present for this meeting.
The group was formed to replace the Sheridan County Economic Development Corpor-ation (SCEDC) that was involuntarily dissolved on Feb. 9, 2012 by the North Dakota Secretary of State’s Dept. Ownership of all property was transferred to MCJDA, along with the money that was collected under the city sales tax authorized for SCEDC by the McClusky town’s citizens.
Two members of the group are city council members (Hunt and Estrada) and three are at large from city residents (Miller, Froehlich and Bowers).
They chose their board of director’s officers as: Hunt, chairman; Froehlich, vice-chair; secretary-treasurer Bowers; and members Estrada and Miller.
Meetings, which are open to the public, will be held the second Monday of the month unless notice of change is given.
The items assigned for discussion and information gathering in the first meeting were about what other similar groups were doing and what rules they followed and where they sought information.
