JDA special meeting airs complaints

By ALLAN TINKER

A small gathering, of eight plus McClusky Job Development members, Chair Roberta Hunt, Andrea Kluck, Jason Parsons and Joey Belisle, listened to daycare supervisor Ilean Gross and other visitors about the issues concerning Little Hearts Daycare and staffing issues. The meeting was held on Dec 16 at McClusky City Hall Council chambers.

Hunt noted that the public meeting had been requested by Gross, who had recently submitted her resignation as supervisor of the daycare. At issue were whether she would return to the position, what her reasons were for quitting and her plan for improvement.

Lengthy discussion among all present addressed several issues:

Non-confidentiality of what goes on among the children in the daycare. Kluck stated that what the kids do, say and how they act are not topics to be taken outside of the daycare to anyone but the parents or other guardian of the children.

Kluck stated she had been the target of much gossip and she was "sick of it." "It is slanderous," she added.
