Hands in dirt, smiles on faces

The residents, under the guidance of Administrator Connie Werth, Sheridan Memorial Home’s own nurse Missy Axt, and the gardening skills of Sheridan County Extension Agent Nicole Wardner, decided to try a container/raised garden project for their summer enjoyment.
Axt stated, "We hear about how much so many of them miss their gardens at home. We planted a combination of flowers and vegetables. We planted tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers for veggies and hope to add more next year.
"We planted a variety of flowers from geraniums, snap dragons, zinnias, petunias, moss roses, and pansies.
"Bruce Sease donated some containers and dirt and Bentz Supply donated some seeds and two large containers. Jeff Axt also donated some black dirt
"Wardner from the extension office came to join the residents in planting and brought gardening gloves, shovels, and a pepper plant she had started from seed. "
