Fun couple enjoying move to McClusky

They are a couple who appear to be celebrating each day of being together. They met at a church prayer meeting, with Luanne holding onto a list of her specifications for a man. On the list were Christian, good conversationalist, and hard worker. She doesn’t say what some of the other specs were but Clarence passed the test.
She knew he was special when she learned he had been helping his mom take care of his dad who had Alzheimer’s, something Clarence had done for several years.
They have been Mr and Mrs Clarence Knudson since July 31, 1985, a total of 28 years. They each had three children from previous marriages: she had two girls and a boy; he had just the opposite, two boys and a girl. The blended family has produced seven grandchildren for each, with four greats for her, three for him.
The meeting is made more special by something Clarence shares, his quitting drinking when Jesus came into his life in 1982. He said he quit cigarettes, too, but that was after he left alcohol. It was the harder battle, he admits, to quit smoking.
Another surprise is to guess their ages. Luanne was born on March 24, 1936 (Happy Birth-day, Luanne!) and he was born on April 29, 1944. That makes her 77 and him 69, which most would never guess.
He still works two or three days a week, driving a mail route from Bismarck to Dick-inson for his old boss Brian Schroeder. He retired from full time mail route work on Nov. 30, 2006. Luanne has retired twice: the first time when she was about 65, from nursing. The second time was from home health care, which they did together.
