Flyway 200 Grand Opening simply grand
By ALLAN TINKER
The October 17 crowd at the Flyway 200 was pleased; there were free hotdogs for the Pumpkin Festival going on down the street and, later at noon, Rich and Robin Bauer treated everyone who stopped by to a choice of barbecued pulled pork or chicken, a choice of soups, delicious mini-bars and a choice of beverage. To ease the spacing for COVID
and just moving around, a corral patio was outside in the sun, with tarps blocking the wind. Bauer and Wolt relatives moved about, already part of the community by marriage, and met new faces as they visited. Prizes awarded to lucky winners ranged from caps to a large cooler. Winners were Cheryl Helm, television; Kurt Mortenson, large cooler; Jason Axt, winter hat; Brody Dockter, cap; Julie Laib, tent; LeRoy Lauer, facemask; Melvin Hissung, knife; Janet Wagner, t-shirt; Roxinne McPhail, t-shirt; Nathan Rhoads, sleeping bags;
Melissa Pfennig, t-shirt; Pastor Warren Rhodes, light; Kayne Rhoads, light; and Rubie Saueressig, cup.
