Elementary presents award winning concert selections

With a string of blue ribbons to back up their talent, the McClusky Elementary students, under the direction of Robin Erdmann, performed their winning selections.
Kaley Sease and Morgan Grade presented Star Chase; Mikayla, Alex and Skylar presented Grandfather’s Clock; Morgan Grade, Kaley Sease, Alexandra Naser and Mikayla Walker presented Irish Folk Dance; Skylar Simes, Mikayla Walker, Shelby Faul and Alexandra Naser presented Eire Canal; Skylar Simes and Alexandra Naser performed a duet, Polly Wolly Doodle; Lucas Rath and Stefon Scheurer performed a percussion duet, Solo 13; and The full fifth and sixth grade band performed Hornpipe.
The elementary program celebrated Rock and Roll history and music. History selections regarding the featured artists were read by several of the students and special performances featured solo music selections.
The numbers were Hey, Good Lookin’ by Hank Williams; Rockin’ Around the Clock by Bill Haley and the Comets, featuring Lucas Rath and Jacob Strobel on electric guitar; Peggy Sue by Buddy Holly sung by Carson Houser with Lucas Rath on guitar; Splish, Splash, I was taking a bath by Bobby Darin; The Twist by Chubby Checkers and performed by the entire chorus and featuring Lucas Rath on the guitar; Can’t Help Falling in Love with You by Elvis Presley.
Erdmann presented awards to the students listed previously with their performance selections and to Laura Bowers for her solo.
