Cruising main
By Allan Tinker
An idea came first to Josh Baker, picked up quickly by friends. A drive around town to relieve the boredom and tension of the COVID-19 stay home policies. Quickly, a number of people, young and old, lined up and drove the streets of McClusky, replaying the Saturday Main Street cruising of the past. It was an easy, friendly Saturday drive around town and out to Hoffer Lake. All the best places to eat, shop and stop for gas were passed by, often with waves and honks for those not in cars, or some passing by in other cars. A nice, friendly, way to break the monotony of so many things NOT to do. Those participating in the drive around were Jerry and Barb Lauer, Shannon and Amanda Lauer and children
Connor and Nadia, Jeremy and Andrea Lauer and sons Jayce and Brayden, Brandon and Erin Lauer, Gary Berg and Shari Roth, Darrell Bertsch, Drew, Tina and Aubrey Majors,
Josh and Brandi Baker, Dan and Leslie Rhoads and children Savannah and Kayne. Just for old-time nostalgia, on the way there was one car had ignition problems and one apparently low on gas. No fundraising, no pressure; just old cars, old friends, and a good idea.
