Courthouse access restricted

Restrictions for public and employee access to offices in the Sheridan County Courthouse for the COVID-19 pandemic procedures, discussion and action by the commissioners, with guidance from State’s Attorney Ladd Erickson, were set at a special meeting held March 19 at 1:30. Participation was also available by conference call. Sandy Felchle and Shannon Dieterle were on conference call, and others present were Chairman Michael Axt, Sheriff, Trent Naser, Emergency Manager, Wayne Houston, and County Extension Agent, Nicole Wardner. Chairman Axt announced the purpose of the special meeting. Commissioner Felchle moved to immediately close the courthouse to the public but all offices will remain open. The public is required to call and make an appointment with the office from which they need assistance. Everyone will be screened with questions prior to entering the courthouse. If person is approved by department head, the department head will set an appointment time, then at set time, open courthouse door and escort public to the requested
office. In the event of a positive COVID-19 case within the county, no public appointments will be made and business will be conducted only by phone, mail, or electronically.
