Community event like no other

The Mercer-Turtle Lake Rodeo Club held its sixteenth annual Bulls, Broncs, and Bareback riding, Ranch Bronc ride, Steer riding,
and Mutton busting event at Brush Lake on Saturday. If you were looking for anyone from the many central Dakota communities surrounding Brush Lake (or living there on weekends) they were likely gathered on benches, stools, chairs from home, or watching from the back of a pickup truck. Randy and Karen Zinke spearhead the event. There was food service, police protection, emergency squads from McClusky and Turtle Lake, coffee in any flavor and temperature desired, and plenty of parking space if you didn’t mind walking a
bit. The entertainment was the best, as usual. Food from Rosie’s Bar and Grill was available for all. Final results were requested and will be published when received, possibly not in time for the Labor Day deadline for local newspaper unless they are printing late.
