A crop report “straight from the horse’s mouth,” Kendon Faul, at McClusky Co-op Elevator, tells it as it is. From the fields of fertile Lincoln Valley area land, to Goodrich and then into the hills of western and northern Sheridan County, the farmers plant, spray, harvest and market under their watchful eyes. Everyone knows that agriculture is truly the center of
the North Dakota economy. This is from the days of pioneers and walking plows and horses to the huge machines with computer connections to the world around them, performing
an amazing number of acres of tillage, seeding and harvesting. Sometimes, the first two at the same time. Faul reported, “Wheat –fewer acres of Wheat where planted this year. Approximately ½ of the seed was sold. Wheat appears to have decent test weight and protein this year. Yields are expected to be a little lower.
