Clowning, carrots, kids and kuchen treats

With ten of the current twelve McClusky Farmers Market ven-dors present for the second week of selling fresh produce and other homemade or homegrown items, the day proved a windy challenge to visitors and vendors alike.
New vendors became familiar with the early rush of buyers, each heading for their favorite vegetable or home-baked treat.
Items new to the market included all-natural personal care products by “Lulu” Luann Kissee.
Vendors brought back the most popular items from previous years and added super-sized-rain-fed kohlrabi, beets, chokecherries, “puppy chow” mix, fresh muffins, kuchen, bread, sweet corn, dill, carrots, beans, peas, beets and cabbage.
Entertaining the children, and many adults, was Trish Mindt, Goodrich, whose clowning “special touches” amuse and bring out the child in everyone who watches. She painted faces with a variety of designs from hearts to small car designs, twisted colored balloons into animals, forms, and large sculptures, making friends with every child whose heart she touched with her gifts of creativity.
