Budget approved for school district

With two members absent from the October meeting, Stacy Sease and Heidi Strobel, the McClusky School District board approved the completed budget for the new school year, 3-0, Roberta Hunt, Brian Larson and Todd Rath voting.
The budget’s estimated revenue is $1,663,046 and estimated expenditure is $1,783,917. Superintendent Dale Ekstrom stated it is common practice to underestimate revenue and overestimate expenses.
Ekstrom reported that an engineer from Prairie Engineering would evaluate the gymnasium heating system as to repairs needed.
Ekstrom also instructed Custodian Rick Tripp to chain off the narrow and peeling concrete steps on the north side of the school during the winter season. Signs will direct people to use the ramp as a safe exit.
