Banquet celebrates success of local FFA group
The weather cooperated and the crowd enjoyed a good meal along with watching FFA members receive recognition and awards for good work. The McClusky FFA Chapter held its annual awards banquet on April 19 at the McClusky Elementary School.
Guest speaker was Hope Johnson, Kenmare, 2009-2010 North Dakota State FFA Northwest Region Vice President. Hope is a freshman at North Dakota State University, Fargo. She spoke about the motivation around FFA projects.
New officers elected were Jacy Hausauer, president; Cody Crimmins, vice president; Justin Grade, secretary; Gustav Grade, treasurer; Brittany Lasher, reporter; and Alex Ripplinger, sentinel.
Receiving the Harlan Swendsen Memorial SOEP Award from Millie Swendsen was John Faul, 2009-2010 McClusky FFA sentinel.
Chance Faul, 2009-2010 McClusky FFA president, and John Faul received the Alumni Scholarships from Jim Crimmins, McClusky FFA Alumni Association.
Star Discovery went to Kady Rath.
Discovery FFA Degrees went to Kady Rath, Kaitlyn Werth and Karli Beyl.
Trevor Boehm was the top salesman for the fruit sale fundraiser that was just completed.
Chance Faul received an Outstanding Performance Crop Selection, DeKalb Agriculture Accomplishment, President of McClusky FFA Chapter, Chapter Farmers, Crop Judging. Faul also received a gavel.
Star Greenhand went to Emily Grade.
Greenhand FFA Degrees went to Summer Dieterle, Taylor Gahner, Emily Grade, Lee Pellman, Austin Roubal and Taylor Deseth.
Chapter FFA Degrees went to Alex Ripplinger, Cody Crimmins, Brittany Lasher, Jacy Hausauer and Gus Grade.
Randy and Debbie Miller received the Honorary Chapter FFA Degree.
Cody Crimmins received the Most Improvement Livestock Judging and Gus Grade received the Most Improvement Crop Judging.
