"Annie's Project" a success

Submitted by Crystal Schaunaman

Eleven women from Sheridan, Wells and McLean counties recently finished attending "Annie’s Project" in McClusky. The six- (turned seven) week course was held once a week for three hours at the McClusky High School, starting January 19 through March 2. The six-week course was held an extra, later, week because one class was cancelled due to bad weather. Annie’s project is a state-wide project with sites around North Dakota delivering the program to area farm women. Although the number of sites around the state fell, this is the third year in a row for this project in McClusky. The NDSU Extension Service puts on this program. The topics covered were as varied as the women attending. The first half of the evening was through interactive video by NDSU Extension personnel. Topics included: crop and livestock marketing, developing marketing plans, business planning, personal insurances (life, vehicle, cancer, etc.), retirement planning, financial analysis and ratios, and "Real Colors" which taught the women to identify and learn more about their own individual personalities as well as those of friends and family.
