Always there to help

Pediatric health care was always the favorite with Kristi Jensen, new Public Health Nurse and Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Services provider for Sheridan County and McLean County.
The new job allows her to continue her work with children as well as families served by WIC and also persons receiving health services connected to her office.
From foot care in Butte to the WIC programs in both counties and working in schools, she is happy helping people, being back home and giving back to the community. "She was always there to help" is the way Jensen would like to be remembered. She also helps the Towner/McHenry nurse at Velva and Drake with their foot care program.
"My main focus is prevention," Jensen said. "Keeping the community healthy and stopping a disease or injury before it starts."
As for her work situation, Jensen states she has never worked for a place that was as flexible. If someone in the worker’s family is ill or needs some time, they are able to put family first."
"I am on the road a lot, but liking it so far," she added. Hours are subject to adjustment at her Sheridan location, but usually 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with summer hours until September. In October she will switch to "whatever works." She is also in Washburn the first and fourth Mondays of the month and in Garrison the first and fourth Tuesdays.
