Accuracy of new alcohol monitor hard to beat
A pilot program in the South Central Judicial District for three years and now state-wide has resulted in a new level of monitoring repeat offenders. The offenders may be monitored after a second offense of driving while intoxicated and need not be convicted of the offense to require the device be placed.
New scam finds targets better prepared
Scammers, especially those putting Nigeria on their email letterheads, should be getting smarter. They aren’t, but their targets seem to be. The latest scam is a threat to turn the email’s target/victim over to the “international court of justice” on a “warrant of arrest.”

Properties subject of possible condemnation action
In an issue that may take a different turn of events before closure, First District Health representatives, Jim Heckman and Jake Windsor, as well as Sheridan County State’s Attorney Jerod Tufte, met with Sheridan County Commissioners on Feb. 1 at the regular monthly meeting to address several buildings in disrepair on Goodrich’s main street.
Elevator repair continues on schedule
With the eyes of the community watching, the repair to the heavily fire-damaged Co-op Elevator is keeping on schedule. Manager Brian Larson stated that the last time he spoke with Northern Grain Construction and Design out of Clara City, MN, they were still on schedule with usable premises on March 30, 2011 and completed by the next month on April 30.
