WWCS team starts baseball season in stride
By Michael Johnson, Editor
There were no Easter eggs out on the new grass infield at Washburn over the weekend but opponents of the Washburn-Wilton-Center-Stanton baseball team were seeing their share of goose eggs last week. In the first two games of the season, WWCS knocked out Garrison 21-0 and later Central McLean 10-0. The games allowed for the Cardinals to get the bats swinging and see some variety out on the plate. Kip Erickson is in his sixth year as head coach and said that he was very pleased with how the season is starting out. He is assisted by assistant coach Dirk Hausauer. Evan Eberle, a senior from Washburn, pitched the first game against Garrison and threw 82 solid pitches. Erickson was very pleased with how he held up in the first game of the season. Meshing well with Eberle was Danny Henke, Center, catching.
