WWCS Battling through Regionals:
Washburn/Wilton/Center-Stanton didn’t exactly inspire confidence with the ending of their regular season, losing the last couple of series on the way to securing the third seed in the regional tournament. But the Cards were wisely resting and recuperating, getting ready for action when it would matter the most. In the first game of the Region 8 tournament on Monday, the Cards would face the Cougars of Heart River, a team that had just taken two games from them a few days earlier to end the season. But this was a different Redbird squad, a
more determined and focused one, that took to the diamond.
Hunter Hoffman was on the hill for the Cards, and once more he was dominate for them, as he would make the Cougars look like kittens, holding them to one run on four hits, on the ways to a dominate 4 to 1 opening game victory for the Cardinals.
