The Wilton-Wing Miners were ready to put their season behind them and looking to come into the District 10 Tournament as a more focused team; trying to play their way into a regional tournament berth when everything was said and done.
The Miners played a good game against the Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky Trojans on opening night, but still finished behind the Trojans 59-51 for the loss on Friday.
With a second round bye, Wilton-Wing waited until the final day to play the Washburn Cardinals in a loser-out game. The Cardinals proved to be too much for Miners as they dashed Wilton-Wing's hopes of continuing their post season with a 65-33 loss that ended their basketball year.
On the tournament's opening day on Friday, the Miners and the Trojans officially kicked off the postseason; the Miners would be the first out of the gate.
A pair of three-pointers by Tucker Bergquist and Wyatt Silliman jump-started the Miners to a 8-0 lead midway into the first quarter. But the Trojans gained ground back to end the opening quarter down by 10-9.
