Washburn varsity sweeps Garrison double-header

Both Washburn teams took to the road to take on the Garrison Troopers in a double-header in Garrison on Tuesday. Hermes smiled upon the traveling Cardinals that day as both teams ended their nights with double-digit leads—the girls 59-38 and the boys 45-35. The Lady Cardinals were one step ahead of the Troopers the entire night, leading by nine points at halftime. The third and fourth quarters were also all Washburn as they extended their lead scoring 17 points in both quarters. Unable to match the Cardinal shooting, Garrison struggled to find its offensive rhythm and ultimately was unable to provide a counter attack, losing by 21 points. Samantha Schell carried the night with 21 points, followed closely by Cori Moberg with 18 points.
