Washburn gears up for Region 5 tourney
The Cardinals final battle before the Region 5 tournament was against the mighty Central McLean Cougars on Nov. 4.
The Team was 8-0 against region rivals. The Cardinals stayed competitive throughout the evening, but the Cougars were able to pull it off 3-1.
“I am very happy with today’s play,” said Washburn head coach Mark Jennings. “I think we competed very well with a lot of very good things.”
The Cougars were off to a lighting fast start in set one.
The Cardinals gained momentum on a few occasions, but this set would be taken by the Cougars 25-13.
