Washburn senior Jordan Waldren has been named to one of this year’s Scheels All-Star softball teams. Waldren, a first baseman and pitcher for the Cardinals, is one of 34 seniors total named to one of the two teams. She represents the West team, along with 16 other girls. Each student athlete is first nominated by her own coach before coaches in the
region vote for players, who are finally reviewed by the North Dakota Softball All-Stars Board of Directors. All 34 honorees will receive Waldren named to All-Star team
a plaque for their achievement and a commemorative jersey. They will also be recognized on social media and through a state-wide press release. Traditionally, the East and West teams play each other during a pair of games, one in Bismarck and one in Fargo, that take place in June. There will not be a physical All-Star Series this year due to COVID-19.
