W-W-C-S starts season 2-0
By Jarann Johnson, BHG News Service
The Washburn-Wilton-Center-Stanton baseball team was in for a bit of a surprise Monday evening against the Hettinger Night Hawks. The surprise was being able to play two games of baseball while most of the state’s baseball teams continued to cancel or postpone games because of spring’s extended winter temperatures and conditions. For W-W-C-S it was also the first time the team had been outside this season. The reigning Region 8 champions had not been outside for a single practice all season. Despite the tough situation W-W-C-S picked up two wins. In the first game, Sam Goos pitched the team to a 13-3 victory in seven innings. The game also counted as a region game.
