Two productive meets for Southern McLean

With the Regional Meet this upcoming weekend offering one last chance to get qualified for State, the Southern McLean Track and Field team looks as ready as ever after their athletes posted a number of good finishes in their competitions from last week at the Richardton-Taylor and Harvey Wells County meets. Although others are frustratingly close to hitting their state qualifying marks, the only two from the Southern McLean team that have currently secured their spots in the State Meet -- Abigail Waloch and Kate Fox -- did so again. Waloch, who had previously qualified in the 1600m, took first place in the 800m at the HWC Meet with a time of 2:22.76 to collect her second state qualifying event. Fox added the 1600m event to her State docket with a 5:23.50 finish for third place at HWC, which she’ll add to her 3200m qualification from last week.
