Local boys and girls basketball teams spent the week surrounding Christmas traveling around the state for some away games, without much success.
Cardinal boys traveled to Steele to take on Kidder County on Dec. 17. The Washburn boys would manage to stay within 20, but eventually fall to the Wolves 56-35. The Washburn boys host Richardton-Taylor on Jan. 4 for a double header with the girls.
On Dec. 19, the Cardinal girls took a trip to Beulah to face off with the Miners, who would come out victorious. Beulah would take the game 55-23. The Cardinal girls play Richardton-Taylor at 5 p.m. on Jan. 4 in Washburn.
The Wilton-Wing girls would have a close fight with the Bulldogs on Dec. 19 in Flasher, with just a few baskets separating the teams. In the end, Flasher would come out on top with a 58-52 win. The Miner girls travel to Garrison on Jan. 2 for an away game, then to Beulah on Jan. 6.
